What we don't recommend

The trips we'll talk you out of.

A curator's job is partly editorial refusal. There are ways of seeing Norway that we will not put our name to, because they don't actually put you in the country. If you ask us about any of these, we'll be honest and point you elsewhere.

  • ·Mass-market cruise lines that dock for six hours and call it Norway.
  • ·Bus-tour operators with forty travelers and a single window seat each.
  • ·“Norway in five days” itineraries that are mostly transit.
  • ·Anything else that doesn't put you in the country properly.

Roots and routes

Norway, thoughtfully curated - for travelers with roots here.

A second strand of the studio: heritage-aware active travel for Norwegian-Americans who want family research woven into the trip rather than separated from it. Bygdebok visits, county archives and active weeks in the regions the diaspora actually came from.

Couple walking with bicycles between blooming apple orchards above the Hardangerfjord on a soft summer afternoon.
An editorial studio

“The best Norway journeys feel inevitable - as if the route was always going to be exactly this.”
